I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I received my BA in Art History from Baker University in Kansas, and my teacher credentials for Art K-12 and Elementary K-8 from the University of Central Oklahoma. I taught art and music in the Houston, TX metro for 5 years, before moving to Alaska. While in Alaska I worked as an early childhood teacher in a Montessori school as well as Discovery Preschool, serving legislature’s families in Juneau, AK. When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, my family and I moved back to Oklahoma where I worked as a Child Welfare investigator and in the public schools as a Kindergarten teacher and art teacher. After my mother's passing, my family and I relocated to Lake Wales where I worked for 4 years as an educator and children's garden coordinator at Bok Tower Gardens. Now I teach Art at this wonderful school, Bok Academy.
