Bio

Christine Guzzetta received her Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida. She earned her BA from USF where she majored in general music and minored in flute performance. She has taught Advanced Steel Drums at Bok Academy since 2009. She also teaches Steel Drum and General Music at Hillcrest Elementary School of the Arts where she serves as the Fine Arts Director. Her research, “Learning Method Preferences in a Steel Drum Classroom,” was published in the International Journal of Music Education in 2019 (print version May 2020). 

     Mrs. Guzzetta is a member of FMEA and Nafme, attending their conferences annually. In 2018 she spoke at the Modern Band Colloquium in Fort Collins, and in 2019 she spoke at the Florida Music Educators Conference in Tampa, FL.  She has previously taught in Newfield, NY, and in Plant City, FL. She lives in Lake Wales with her husband John and their three children.
